Anyone can clean their car, but what about those cloudy yellow headlights?

It is a very common occurrence. We see then every day. It’s like a disease: the yellow and cloudy headlight lenses need a drastic repair. I even saw them in cars at the local car wash. It puzzled me that these folks took so much care of themselves – they washed, vacuumed the interior, removed the floor mats, and even hand-dried their cars, but they still had those cloudy, yellowish headlights. It is not just a problem in old and heavily used cars. It is also prevalent in cars 2 to 3 years old. It doesn’t matter if it’s a Dodge, Ford, Mercedes or Porsche.

When asked, most said they couldn’t afford or didn’t want to pay the high prices for their local auto dealership replacements. The average price for a pair of replacement plastic headlights at local car dealers was around $ 450, which didn’t even include installation and alignment (which would be another $ 60-120). After market headlights do exist, but they have received mixed reviews, and the savings are not that great, quality and fit are lagging behind, and then you still had to install and align them. And why can you do it again in another year or two?

There is another solution, there are headlight repair, cleaner and restorer kits available for under $ 30 (Google headlight cleaner and / or restorer), much less expensive than replacement lenses, and they work!

Plastic headlight lenses are the norm in the auto industry now – all cars have them. Some have fancy names like Plexan and Lexan, but they all have the same issues. Sun, acid rain, inclement weather, chemicals (brake fluid, power steering fluid, hot radiator fluids, hot water, harsh cleaners, etc.) will cause plastic lenses to degrade and weaken quickly. Some manufacturers have moved to include a protective film on lenses. Regardless, everyone is susceptible to this fading and yellowing over time.

With these headlight repair, cleaner and restorer kits, even junk car lenses have been repaired and restored to new (as evidenced by some websites). These same lenses used to be discarded and have now become new profit centers for salvage warehouses. Treatments are applied in a similar way to the exterior of the headlight lens, where the damage is worst and a mechanic is not needed to repair it.

These kits can easily be found under Headlight Cleaner and Headlight Restorer on Google. So now you know that there is a very inexpensive solution to the problem of yellow, cloudy and worn headlights: repair, clean and restore them as new again. Now there is no excuse for not having shiny, clean headlights. Car dealerships have been using these headlight cleaners, restorers, and repairers on their cars and you can too.
