Car Wash Fundraisers Banned – Are Our Youth At Risk?

There seems to be a new trend where car wash fundraising is banned and this hurts non-profit groups. Some car washes have said they will allow nonprofit groups to sell coupons for their car washes and participate in a portion of the money raised. The car wash gets good public relations and goodwill from the community and non-profit groups no longer compete with the car wash on a busy, sunny Saturday. Everyone wins, right?

Well, this is what at least some of the environmental code enforcement staff and some car wash owners would have you believe. But the reality is that car wash coupon schemes at car washes don’t pay off much for non-profit groups. Are non-profit groups complaining about this? Well no, why would they? After all, $ 250-500 is better than nothing, yet it’s nothing compared to the $ 5,000 they could have made if they had done their own old-fashioned car wash fundraiser, before they were banned. .

Some car wash owners say not, we have a new special program, really? The reality is that the “this time is different” concept regarding car wash coupon schemes is ridiculous. Many groups look at the deal car washes offer and choose not to. Others do it once, maybe twice and never again, as it doesn’t work.

The municipal environmental “fresh out of school” stormwater they don’t understand, they think they have solved a problem, in fact they have had it and the whole community pays and in the long run, we all lose, a little bit of Americana and a few more good guys they move to the dark side of society. A coupon car wash fundraising plan for car wash owners in PR? Hmm?
