If you’ve played online multiplayer battle games, you know that the idea is for your team to destroy the opposing team’s bases. You also kill opposing team members and A1 monsters and bosses. This type of genre is quite fun and full of emotion. Winning the game depends on everyone’s close cooperation. Rise of Immortals is the newest PC game added to the genre.
There are twelve heroes in the story and you have to choose which character you want to play. Tzai is a rune-covered fighter and Scorpix is a half-man, half-scorpion tank. Such goofy characters do not go down well with players, regardless of age. The other character, Kyrie, is an assassin and dressed scantily to show off her sexy figure, doesn’t do much to make the game more exciting.
Psychozen is supposed to be a disabler, but his attacks don’t disable anyone. He can deal a lot of damage to his opponents and the more damage they take, the slower they become. You can heal yourself and restore your energy and health. His moves are meaningless and will leave you homesick.
Tzai can also deal damage and can quickly close in on an enemy. He has the ability to fight well in close quarters. He can also stun an enemy for a few seconds, giving him time to think about his next move or escape if necessary. Against single targets he is deadly and an efficient killing machine, but against multiple opponents he lacks consistent abilities and will die quickly.
All twelve characters are underwhelming and the game feels unbalanced. There is another character, Aislynn, who is described as a tank. How ridiculous is that? Aislynn can heal and has amazing speed. Ichorr can make all of his teammates invisible, which is really useful in arena. He can attack groups of enemies much more efficiently than any other character. He seems to be the most important hero in this story and doesn’t rely on his teammates’ support that much.
Each character has its own ability and will come in handy on your adventure in this fun game. You have to play about 10 levels to discover the strengths and weaknesses of each character. Rise of Immortals uses the League of Legends business model and the same aspects. In Riot it worked really well as there was a huge selection of characters available to you. Rise of Immortals only has twelve characters so it doesn’t have much variety. Many of the additional skins are poor texture changes and nothing more.
There may be some nice fights in Rise of Immortals and some of the characters move smoothly, but the developer hasn’t managed to make the game compelling enough to make it a necessity. The characters are dumb and the game is nothing but stupid. There are plenty of other polished and exciting games available in this genre, so you have the option to skip this one and you won’t regret it if you do.
There are plenty of other worthwhile games out there, so leaving this one behind is probably the best thing to do.
