Most Cypriot beaches offer a variety of water sports such as diving, snorkelling and sailing.
Ayia Napa is known for the beautiful Blue Flag Nissi Beach. Visitors are drawn to this beach for its soft golden sands and calm waters, ideal for families and couples. There is a small island just 100 meters from the beach that visitors can easily reach on foot through the shallow water. You can practice water sports such as windsurfing, water skiing and pedalos, as well as bungee jumping and beach volleyball.
Fig Tree Bay and Sirena Bay are two popular Protaras beaches that have clear, shallow water, making them ideal for children. The larger Fig Tree Bay is a beautiful golden sand beach lined with hotels, restaurants, cafes and shops. There are a variety of water sports on offer including jet skiing, jet skiing, parasailing and many different inflatable games for the whole family to enjoy. Konnos Bay’s most secluded and sheltered beach lies a mile from Ayia Napa on the rugged Cavo Greco coastline.
Larnaca’s beautiful beaches include the famous Finikoudes shallow water beach, which is lined with beautiful palm trees, restaurants and bars.
Halfway between Limassol and Paphos, near the birthplace of Aphrodite, is the wonderful bay of Pissouri. Around the bay there are some excellent restaurants where you can enjoy a traditional Cypriot meal while looking out over the Mediterranean Sea. Just outside of Limassol is the beautiful Kourium Beach, which is set against a backdrop of a Greco-Roman amphitheatre.
Probably the best known beach in Cyprus is Petra Tou Romiou (Aphrodite Beach) near Paphos. It is believed that this is where Aphrodite came out of the sea. Paphos has many beautiful beaches, including Coral Bay, which is a golden sandy beach situated between two headlands.
The west coast of Cyprus is home to some of the most beautiful and secluded beaches. Sitting on the edge of the Akamas Peninsula are the beaches of Latchi and Polis. A must-see on your non-stop holiday to Cyprus is Lara Beach, where the endangered loggerhead and green turtles nest and lay their eggs.
