Instructions:
Open Outlook and click the File menu. Select Account Settings from the dropdown menu, and then click again to select Account Settings. Click New, click to select the Manually configure server settings or additional server types option, and then click the Next button.
Under Choose Service, make sure to click the Internet Email button, and then press the Next button. In the Internet Email Settings window, enter your name and email address in the respective fields under the User Information heading. Under the Server Information header, select POP3 from the Account Type dropdown menu and enter your incoming and outgoing mail server details in the respective fields.
Under the Login Information heading, enter your email address in the Username field and password in the Password field. Be sure to check the Remember password checkbox. This will save you the hassle of typing your password each time you sign in to Outlook.
Click the More Settings button and select the Outgoing Server tab. Click to select the check box next to My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication, and also select the button next to Use the same settings as my incoming mail server.
Click the Advanced tab (in the same window), enter the port number of the incoming server (POP3) and check the box next to This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL).
Similarly, enter the port number for the outgoing server (SMTP) and select SSL from the dropdown menu next to Use the following type of encrypted connection. Select from options such as Server timeout and Leave a copy of messages on the server.
Click the OK button and then click the Test Account Settings button to test the configured email account. If you return with a success message, click OK and then Next and then the Finish button to exit all windows. If you get an error message, click the Back button to go back and recheck all settings. If they are incorrect, correct them and continue by clicking the Next button and finally the Finish button.

Please contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider) for the incoming and outgoing server information. Check incoming and outgoing server information for Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo! mail and yahoo! Mail Plus, etc accounts For Gmail, the incoming and outgoing servers (SMTP) are respectively ‘pop.gmail.com’ and ‘smtp.gmail.com’. For Hotmail, the incoming and outgoing servers are ‘pop3.live.com’ and ‘smtp.live.com’ respectively. For Yahoo Mail Plus, these are ‘plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com’ and ‘plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com’. For Yahoo Mail, these are ‘pop.mail.yahoo.com’ and ‘smtp.mail.yahoo.com’.
