Fact: There are 253 million cars and trucks on US roads. If at any one time about a quarter of those cars are on the road, that means 63,250,000 are on the road, divided by 50 states, that’s 126,500 cars on the road at any given time in each state. Obviously these numbers differ and places like New York surely have more cars than downtown Wyoming, but the point is that no matter where you are, there will be others around you in their vehicles.
There are millions of small and large companies appearing in the US every year. With all this competition, don’t you think it’s time to consider a new method of advertising to make your business stand out? This is where all those random car facts come in, it’s time to consider vehicle advertising!
Think of the exposure billboards receive every day. If you get the placement right, you can reach thousands of people in a matter of hours! Now imagine if that billboard moved around the city and reached more people. Is that the kind of advertising you want for your business? If so, you really should consider vehicle advertising, and I’ll cover some of the most popular options to help you make the best decision.
Wraps:
I’m sure you’ve noticed those cars with crazy graphics and their branding written all over them. These are called wraps and are usually large vinyl sheets with printed graphics that cover a large portion, if not all, of the vehicle to literally turn it into a moving billboard. This is the most expensive option and requires special knowledge of how to position them so as not to distort the image on the multifaceted surface of your vehicle. Most people are concerned about removing them, but if done correctly with the right product, they will leave the paintwork intact and can actually help preserve it.
Vehicle wraps and graphics:
The first example of this that I always think of is your local landscaper. They most likely have a generic white van and have put vehicle lettering on it so customers know who they are when they show up at your house. Like wraps, vehicle lettering is made of a weather-resistant vinyl that is placed on the vehicle. Unlike wraps, these graphics are usually just letters and small logos or images that are cut out of the vinyl so they don’t cover large portions of the vehicle. Letter prices depend on the amount of vehicle you are covering and the number of colors. Most printers will cost per foot or line.
Magnets:
If you are thinking that sticking a giant sticker on your car is not for you, magnets are probably your best option. These are great for real estate agents or others who may use their personal vehicle as a company car. Vehicle magnets can come in many different shapes and sizes and are essentially an oversized business card that you put on the side of your car. The benefit of magnets is that they can be easily removed and reused as long as they are cared for properly. I would not recommend putting them on and taking them off daily as this could wear down the magnet quickly. Storage is also very important as you should always keep it flat so that it sits well, most stick it on their refrigerator or filing cabinet. You should also make sure to clean the area where the magnet will be attached before placing it. A dirty car can result in the loss of a magnet if it falls on the road.
Regardless of which option you choose, vehicle advertising is a great way to make your business stand out.
